Jammu, May 30: Today a joint anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and Police Department on the instructions of Commissioner, JMC, Sh. Rahul Yadav (IAS) under the close supervision of Secretary, JMC, Mr. Atul Kumar (JKAS) and Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), JMC, Ms. Manisha (JKAS) alongwith Chief Revenue Officer, Enforcement officers with the assistance of City Police. The anti-encroachment drive was conducted from K.C. crossing Indira Chowk, Hari Market via Sunder Singh Gurudwara road upto Below Gumat Jammu.
The drive was conducted against the illegal encroachments, wrongly parked vehicles and street vendors causing traffic congestion and obstruction to free movement of pedestrian on footpaths. During the drive the team lifted & seized 4 truck of goods/ material displayed on roadside including two wheelers illegally parked on roadside for repairing.
Further, Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all shopkeepers/rehriwalas/ street vendors not to encroach upon main roads, footpaths, pavements as the same cause inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and also create obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic. |
