BIJNOR, May 30: Former Jammu Mayor and President All India Jat Maha Sabha, Ch Manmohan Singh has urged the community members to initiate multiple measures to maintain and preserve rich culture and heritage of Jat community.
He stated this while addressing as a mammoth gathering as the chief guest at Jat Sanskriti (Culture) Kumbh organized in Bijnor, here today.
While reiterating that Jat society is the backbone of India, has asserted that history of India is incomplete without Jat history. He said that patriotism and sacrifice are part and parcel of the basic nature of Jats and this section of the people has played a significant role even during the freedom struggle against the Britishers.
He said that in today's changing environment, children need good education and emphasized upon the parents to focus on the education of their children, ensuring that they receive quality education especially in view of the fact that children are the future of a nation and need to be moulded into the best citizens. He stressed upon the need to make the younger generation aware about the ideals of Jat culture and the significance of adopting the same in life.
Ch Manmohan also elaborated upon the role of environment on the mental as well as physical of the people especially the children. He said that massive efforts should be initiated at collective as well as individual to reverse the climate change effects. In order to convey a meaningful message about the significance of environment, he inaugurated today’s programme by irrigating the Parijat plant.
The senior Jat leader said earlier we were living in joint families and the children learnt good habits from the elders but today everybody is living in a nuclear family. In such a situation it becomes the foremost responsibility of the parents to inculcate good habits and etiquettes in children for their brighter future, he asserted. He said especially there is dire need to give good etiquettes (Sanskar) and good education to girl children so that they do not face any kind of problem at their in-laws house after their marriage.
Earlier, Ch Manmohan Singh honoured talented and meritorious students of the community including Gold Medalist sports person Shradha Choudhary during the conference.
