Jammu, May 30: The Physical Education and Sports Department of GDC Kunjwani, Jammu organized two-day workshop on Yoga & Stress Management under the action plan of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for 100 days countdown for the International Yoga Day 2022. The aim of the workshop is to motivate the students and staff of the college towards yoga and evolving positive vibes among all. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, Principal of the college. Principal in his keynote address acquainted the participants about the benefits of practicing the ancient yogic art that works to improve health, keep sickness at bay, and create emotional stability & positivity. He added that COVID pandemic has increased stress level of all of us which can be managed by incorporating Yoga into lives. Dr. Ranjana Verma and Dr. Shamboo Nath, faculty, Department of Yoga, Central University of Jammu were the resource persons for the workshop. Dr. Ranjana Verma and Dr. Shamboo Nath gave the detailed overview of Yoga and demonstrated various Asanas, Pranayamas and Kriyas. Students of the college along the Principal and the staff performed various Yoga asanas. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Narinder Paul Sharma, HOD, Physical Education Department of the college. The technical support was provided by Prof. Deepa Sharma. The certificates were also distributed among the participants. Prof. Neelu Gupta, Prof. P K Amla, Dr. Arti Pandoh Gupta, Dr. Rohini Jamwal, Prof. Sajaad Iqbal Khan, Prof. Shafqat Ahmed, Dr. Manjeet Singh along with other staff members attended the workshop. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Baljinder Kour convener of the workshop. |
