| Sawati Sood's "Feelings" exhibits passion of Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 2: "Feelings"- an Exhibition of Paintings by Sawati Sood was inaugurated here at Kala Kendera this evening. Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, was Chief Guest on the occasion. Apart from a galaxy of Art lovers, Advocate Lela Karan Shrama, art historian, Dr. Lalit Gupta, eminent Dogri writer and painter Narsingh Dev Jamwal, were also present Appreciating the work of Sawati Sood, Manhas assured that the Academy will provide all type of assistance in furthering the painting and art related activities in the State. He advised the artist fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir to focus on the much needed themes of harmony, tranquility and peace. He said that Sawati has used vibrant colour to express her inner feelings. He advised the young art students to follow the footsteps of Sawati, a under graduate student of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu. While speaking about her works, Sawati said that my paintings reflect my feeling, emotion and sentiments. She added that as an artist, I believe that one day my massage of unity and peace will get a place in the society. She said that majority of my paintings are abstract and every painting is conveying a massage to the people of Jammu region. |
