District level Inter-zonal tournament begins at Indoor Complex Subhash Stadium

UDHAMPUR, May 30: District level Inter Zonal Tournament for boys U/14 and U/17, in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho & Wrestling, took off at Indoor Complex Subhash Stadium Udhampur.
The tournament is being organised by the department of Youth Services and sports under the patronage of Principal Secretary Youth Services & Sports Alok Kumar and under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna and under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports officer Udhampur.
Ex- Deputy Director Youth Services & Sports J&K, Ashok Kumar Sharma was the chief guest, who declared the tournament open, while S. Swaran Singh District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur presided over the function.
About 553 Boys drawn from across 11 Zones of District Udhampur took part in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest welcomed the participants and interacted with them. He also advised the participants to be Excellent in the academic section as well as in the sports so that they could be honoured in the State and National level Competitions. He also suggested the participants adopt new sports, Technology and sports man spirit and Play the game in a fair manner without any caste & creed.
Poonam Sharma ZPEO JIB; Ajit Singh I/C ZPEO Udhampur; Som Dev Khajuria, Sanjeev Khajuria, Sanjeev Kumar, Karun Magotra, Ajay Sharma, S. Jaswinder Singh, Bhoopinder Singh, Som Dev Khajuria, Romesh Chander Jatin Sethi, Anshu Khanna and Vipin Photra were also present.
