| Ganga files papers in presence of Shanta Kumar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 2: BJP candidate from Vijaypur constituency Chander Parkash Ganga today filed his nomination papers at Vijaypur today.
Ganga was taken in a mammoth procession to the venue of filing nominations before the returning officer and was accompanied by the former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shanta Kumar, State Unit BJP General Secretary Shamsher Singh Manhas, the BJP candidate from adjoining Bishnah constituency Shilpi Verma, the window of Kuldeep Verma, a martyr of Jammu agitation over Amarnath Yatra land row, Vinney Sharma Bhartiya Yuva Morcha District President Kangra, Govind Thakur, BJP MLA from Kullu and Trilok Kapoor Chairman Himachal Pradesh Wool Federation.
Earlier, a big rally was taken out from various parts of Vijaypur constituency, which was addressed by Shanta Kumar and other BJP leaders from Himachal Pradesh, besides Shilpi Verma, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Ganga himself.
Appealing to the voters to cast their votes in favour of the BJP candidate Shilpi Verma said that electing BJP candidates in the assembly elections will be the best tribute to her martyr husband, Kuldeep Verma, who had sacrificed his life for getting the people of Jammu region their due rights and justice. She said that the unity displayed by Jammu people during the agitation should be maintained at all costs adding that BJP is the true representative of the aspirations and urges of Jammu region. |
