| Gupta for upgrading surveillance on borders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 2: Emphasizing for upgrading surveillance and preparedness along the borders as also in the interior areas, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said here today that not only cross border terrorism is continuing, fake currency as also narcotics are finding place to this side under a design and large number of towers and Safe Houses (barracks) have been raised in their border areas by Pak-Army in recent years. In addition Folding Towers have been constructed to facilitate the infiltration and smuggling of explosives and other contrabands, he added. Referring to the dreaded terrorist strike at Mumbai, Prof. Gupta said that this has exposed many aspects of operators of the terror and weaknesses on our borders including that of the sea routes. In Pakistan there are different power centers and Army is one of them under which the ISI is working, he added and said that the statements of the leaders of Civil Government do not matter much. Hence, India should have to be tough in dealing with cross border terror as also the dispensations in the neighbourhood. Addressing a gathering here after opening his Election Office at Krishna Nagar, the BJP leader alleged that many evils have come up but for the Congress leaders of being devoid of the national spirit and were always guided by communal considerations and they have been yielding before separatists and ruling leaders from Kashmir little bothering about their responsibilities towards Jammu to whom they represented. |
