| PMO ignored inputs on terror: RP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 2: Senior BJP leader, who is also co in charge J&K affairs, RP Singh, on Tuesday directly blamed Prime Ministers’ office for sleeping over initial intercepts forwarded by the Research and Analysis wing clearly indicating that militant groups were planning big strike in Mumbai. Upping the ante against the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the BJP leader said that by replacing only Home Minister, the Prime Minister cannot hide the fact that his own office was sleeping over the intercepts for so long and did nothing to prevent the Mumbai terror attack. Speaking in angry voice, Singh said mere resignation of Union Home Minister, is of no use, the entire cabinet has to share the collective responsibility and above all the Prime Minister should himself resign for failing to protect the citizens of this country despite getting regular intercepts. Raising pointing fingers towards the working of the Mumbai ATS team, Singh said that in recent months the ATS team was busy with the investigation of the Malegaon blast case and probing links of religious gurus with the blast suspects. Had it not been the case the Mumbai terror attack could have been prevented, Singh said adding many innocent lives were not lost .He said the ATS were trying to fix up someone else than focusing their attention on the real job. Commenting on the J&K Assembly elections, Singh said that the BJP candidates would emerge victorious and would empower people of Jammu by giving them their due share of recognition. He said in the coming days the BJP leaders would lay stress on uniting people of Jammu and seek votes in the name of the unity of Jammu to defeat opportunists. |
