Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri listens to public issues at Randi Badetar, Doongi

RAJOURI, June 1: Deepening further its massive outreach initiative, the District Administration Rajouri on Wednesday organised special Weekly Block Diwas Meetings to listen and redress the public grievances across the district.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal listened to Public issues at Village Rani Badhter of Border Block Doongi.
Among others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; BDC Doongi, Raiz Chowdhary; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE PWD, Nissar Hussain; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; Dy CMO, Dr Anees Altaf Nabi and other district and sectoral officers were present at the event.
The public and panchayat representatives apprised the DDC about a number of issues and demands of their areas. They demanded new road projects, up-gradation of schools, better health services, filling of vacant posts in Government institutions and other related issues.
Specific issues included scarcity of water, sanctioning of handpumps, establishment of sheep and dairy units at Rani Badetar, Women self-help groups to be constituted at Rani Badhetar, special camps to be organised for health screening of old aged persons, veterinary centre for Rani Badetar, repair of main road to Rani Badhetar Road etc.
Other issues like, dug well at Sangpur Narian west to be made functional, lack of ambulance, Radi gala to Gurudwara road to be blacktopped, irrigation kulhs at Sangpur to be repaired, shortage of electricity transformers, road from Narian to Dogani to be repaired and renovated at the earliest etc., were projected during the programme.
Some more issues included repair and renovation of PHC at Nadayala, dilapidated condition of road from Chatyari to Bagla Nadayala, unemployment among educated youth, awareness camps to be organised at panchayat level on livelihood generation schemes, sanctioning of an ATM at Sasal Kote, tehsil status to Doongi etc.
Public also demanded for construction of road from Rani Badetar to Ghabaran, shortage of electricity poles, fixation of rates of raw materials for construction purpose, implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, shortage of staff in educational institutions, repair and renovation of MS Rani Badetar, trauma hospital at Narian etc.
The officers of different departments also replied to the queries raised by the public during the event and also educated them about the schemes and programmes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
While speaking during the event, the ADDC underlined the objective of the block diwas saying that this public outreach event is aimed at better coverage of government schemes, enhanced interaction with common man and effective monitoring of the developmental projects.
He also asked the officers to ensure the timely and judicious use of the funds provided for the execution of the developmental works.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.
Seeking the cooperation of the public in the developmental process, the DDC urged the public to work side by side with the district administration for the peace, prosperity and development of the district.
Referring to several Govt schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public, he urged the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
Stressing on close coordination between the frontline workers and public representatives, he asked them to work in tandem for the prompt delivery of essential services and holistic and sustainable development of the region.
While addressing the issues and demands of the public, the DDC said that the District Administration is working to ensure the outcome-based disposal of the genuine concerns.
Responding to the issue of the scarcity of water, the DDC said that all households of the district would be provided with functional tapped water supply with the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission on ground.
He also informed about the IEC activities being carried out in the district by Integrated Support Agency (ISA) to sensitize the public about water conservation; different aspects of the Jal Jeevan Mission and the role and responsibilities of the Gram Sabhas in the conservation of local water resources.
