Mayor, others tours Bahu Fort, review development works

JAMMU, June 1: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development activities in the city of temple, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Raj Kumar Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee JMC, Hardeep Singh Mankotia Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee JMC, Ajay Gupta Chairman Social Justice Committee, Madam Sharda Kumari Councillor of ward no. 47 (Bahu Fort Area) today conducted an extensive tour in the Bahu Fort Temple & its surrounding areas and took stock of the various development activities being undertaken by various departments under Jammu Smart City Projects.
Rahul Yadav Commissioner JMC also holding the charge of CEO JSCL, Pankaj Mangotra Vice Chairman JDA, Hitesh Gupta Deputy CEO JSCL, Dr. Vinod Sharma Health Officer JMC, Romesh Wazir I/c Sanitation Officer JMC and other concerned technical and supervisory staff of JDA, JSCL, Works Division JMC, Health Section JMC as well as prominent citizens of the Bahu Fort & its adjoining areas and representatives of Bahu Fort Temple management committee were also remained present there during the tour.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that large number of people from J&K as well as across the country visits on daily basis to pay obeisance at Maha Kali Mandir Bahu Fort and also Maha Maya Mandir have a view of Bagh-e-Bahu and keeping in view the heavy rush of pilgrims, JDA has developed a well furnished parking slot having capacity of more than 100 vehicles as well as beautiful park just outside the main entrance of the temple for the convenience of visitors.
He further told that an amount of Rs 4 Crore will be spent on executing other development projects especially under Jammu Smart City Ltd. at remaining areas of Bahu fort temple, Maha Maya Temple, Har-Ki-Podi, Balidhan Stambh, so that more & more tourists & pilgrims can come here which will be a boost for our local businessmen. He further told that other departments such as Forest, Wild Life, Floriculture, PWD have also under taken development as well as landscaping and its allied activities in whole circuit of Maha Maya Temple - Har-Ki-Podi - Bahu Fort temple- Gandola .
Besides this, Mayor along with Raj Kumar Chairman Health & Sanitation committee JMC also inaugurated a special camp under Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojna Sehat in the Councillors Hall Jammu Municipal Corporation Office for enabling all the Officers/officials, sanitation workers of JMC alongwith their family members to avail the facility of Jan Arogya Sehat (Ayushman) cards on spot.
He further appeal to all the councillors & staff members of JMC to come forward & take full benefit of this special camp which will remain continue up to 4th of June 2022.
