NCC Cadets of 4 J&K Bn of GDC Kathua Conducted Cleanliness Drive

JAMMU, June 2: A Cleanliness drive and awareness rally was conducted by NCC Cadets of 4 J&K Bn of GDC Kathua on 02/06/2022 in the local market of Kathua town. The drive was conducted on the day 4th under the action plan of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan Wef 30th may 2022 to 5th June 2022. A series of activities were conducted on this occasion including collection of Plastic waste and garbage from the local market of Kathua town and an awareness rally regarding the least use of single used plastic items. During the rally cadets chanting the slogan of Clean India Green India, Say No to Plastic, Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat etc. More than 30 cadets took part in the event with full zest and zeal. The rally was flagged off by Principal of the College Prof. Sumnesh Jasrotia. Speaking on the occasion Principal of the college applauded the continuous efforts of the cadets and ANO of the unit for organizing such activities. He said that the pollution due to single use plastic items has become an important environmental challenge confronting all countries. India is committed to take action for mitigation of pollution caused by littered Single Use Plastics. He also elaborated that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India for making the country clean and green. ANO of the unit Dr. Verinder Singh also addressed the cadets and motivated them to keep their surrounding clean and green. He appealed to the cadets for inviting people to participate in the Swachhta Abhiyan drive and turned it into a National Movement. A sense of responsibility has been evoked among the people through the Clean India Movement.
