DC Jammu reviews arrangements for Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022

JAMMU, June 3: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022.
Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, SSP Chandan Kohli, RTO Ghanshyam Singh, ADC Satish Sharma, ACR Vijay Kumar, SDMs, along with senior officers from Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Tourism, Information & PR, Security, Health, CRPF and representatives from different religious organisations were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the arrangements made for accommodation of pilgrims, Barricading, security arrangements, installation of equipment for announcement and wi-fi, , provision of power and water supply, cleanliness, sanitation and medical facilities at registration counters, Lodgement centres and especially Yatri Niwas.
It was informed that five counters have been established for Tatkal registration of the pilgrims i.e at Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Sabha, Panchayat Ghar and two at Geeta Bhawan and Ram Mandir for the registration of Sadhus.
It was also apprised that a token counter has also been established at Saraswati Dham for the crowd management.
Reviewing the provisions for cleanliness, sanitation, installation of lights and mobile toilet facilities at Yatri Niwas, lodgement centres, registration counters etc, the Municipal Commissioner, Jammu assured that needful will be done as per the past practice.
The DC directed the police department to install CCTV Cameras and make adequate provision of lighting system at the Langar Sites. She also asked the department to ensure proper barricading and deployment of adequate security personnel at check points.
On providing Identity Proofs to the deputed staff, the DC directed the concerned departments to complete the process in advance to avoid inconvenience to the staff at the time of pilgrimage.
Regarding health-care, the DC asked the CMO to depute adequate teams of doctors along with para medical staff and ambulances at yatri niwas and other sites, who will perform their duties round the clock for the convenience of the pilgrims.
She also instructed the Field Publicity Officer from information department to install the Public Address System for regular announcements regarding do’s and don'ts and other necessary instructions at Yatri Niwas as per past practice.
