DC reviews arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

KATHUA, June 3: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of the officers from different departments to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022, here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex. The meeting was attended by SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal, DC State Taxes Enforcement, Lakhanpur, Ranjeet Singh, ADC Kathua Atul Gupta, Project Manager, NHAI, Jammu; Registrar Suresh Kumar (Yatra Officer); ACR Kathua Sandeep Seointra, CMO Kathua, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti (Civil & Mech.), PDD (JPDCL), PWD (R&B) Kathua and other concerned officers from different departments.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner expounded that as Yatra is taking place after a gap of 02 years, a higher influx of yatris is anticipated which requires robust arrangements. He directed concerned officers to put in place all relevant measures to ensure pleasant & memorable experience for the yatris.
The DC asked the concerned departments to formulate action plans related to security, safe drinking water, power supply, Medical facilities, sanitation, Provision of toilets, Sanitation facilities, lodging and langer facilities, Traffic and security arrangements etc. He directed the departments to work in coordination for finalizing the necessary arrangements well before the commencement of the yatra.
The DC also enjoined upon the concerned officers to keep the contingency plan ready to deal with any eventuality. He also called for making duty charts of the staff to be deployed and stressed on training & sensitization of Staff to facilitate the yatris.
The SSP Kathua apprised the meeting regarding the threat perception and also briefed about the measures proposed for the peaceful conduct of the yatra.
The DC directed concerned officers to provide better sanitation, cleanliness and illumination across the route & ensuring installation of signages and hoardings. He also directed the CMO to make available health care services round the clock to meet any medical emergency and augment ambulance facilities.
The DC also asked the representative of NRLM to make arrangements for installation of stalls to showcase the products made by SHGs and exploit the opportunity. It was given out in the meeting that dedicated cultural stalls will be installed at identified Yatra points for the entertainment of the Yatris.
