CVPPPL starts celebration of World Environment Day

JAMMU, June 3: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2022, Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt. Ltd. started a series of activities to be held from 3rd June to 5th June at its Corporate Office in Jammu under the theme - "Only One Earth". In first phase, the programme started with plantation of medicinal plant sapling by Rajat Gupta, MD CVPPPL. This was followed by an awareness session wherein Dr. Ravi Sharma, Senior Manager (Env.) apprised the participants about the environmental concerns and the theme of World Environment Day. Through poetic recitations, he also portrayed a picture of future environmental scenario in absence of any instant and concrete action by humanity, emphasizing on the need to enhance the expanse of humanity to all living beings on earth. Saplings of 247 plants were distributed to the staff members of CVPPPL for plantation at their residential places. The second phase of the event i.e. the Plantation Drive shall be held on 5th June (Environment Day) when the saplings will be planted by the staff members of Corporate Office. Plantation drives shall also be organised by the Projects of CVPPPL in Kishtwar. While speaking on the occasion, Rajat Gupta, Managing Director said that now it is the time to act individually and collectively for correcting the adverse impact on our environment as we can not wait for the worst to happen. He emphasised upon the need to develop sustainably in harmony with nature so as to ensure that our earth remains in a position to sustain life for our posterity.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Amrik Singh, General Manager, CVPPPL. All the employees of CVPPPL Corporate Office participated in the programme.
