NCC Cadets GDC Kathua Organised Cycle Rally to Celebrate World Bicycle Day

JAMMU, June 3: A Cycle Rally was organised by 4 J&K Bn NCC Government Degree College Kathua to Celebrate World Bicycle Day. The rally was flagged off by the Principal of the college Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia in presence of Prof. Rakesh Singh HOD Department of Chemistry, Dr. Roshan Lal Pakhru, Prof. Manmohan Singh. The Rally Started from the main gate of the college via Shaheedi Chowk, Parliwand, Mukheerji Chowk, Nagri Adda Via Stadium Road and back. The main aim of the rally is to promote cycle culture among the locals of the Kathua Town, focus on health and environment etc. Cadets placed placards and banners on their bicycles to portraying and displaying the benefits of riding bicycle to human health. During the rally cadets Chanting the slogan on "Do Pahiya vahan Apnaye Achi Sahet Ka Labh Utheyn", " Mutapa Ghtayen Petrol Nahi Cycle Apnye", " Stop stressing Start Riding" etc. Speaking on the occasion Principal of the College Congratulated the NCC Cadets and ANO of the Battalion for successfully organizing the cycle rally. He said that NCC Cadets of Government Degree College Kathua participated in all the activities with full zeal and enthusiasm, they work tirelessly for the social and community cause. He said that riding a bicycle not only keeps the person healthy but it also helpful for keeping the environment clean and pollution free. Dr. Verinder Singh ANO of the Unit also took part in the rally by riding bicycle along with the cadets. He advised the cadets to ride bicycle for at least 30 minutes a day for keeping yourself mentally and physically fit. He said that riding a bicycle regularly will increase joint mobility, muscle strength and flexibility, decreases stress levels and also decreases body fat levels. He appealed to the cadets for the promotion of cycle culture in their locality so that India becomes healthy and pollution free.
