| Harsh in Chenani as Panthers boat get rocky | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 3: The Panthers Party General Secretary, Harsh Dev Singh, has rushed to Chenani constituency with a mission to salvage the position of his party candidate, Faquir Nath, who faces a tough challenge from the Congress candidate, Krishen Chander. Party sources today said that though the voters had nothing against the Panthers Party's policies and programmes but they seemed to be annoyed with the attitude of Faquir Nath who had not proved helpful to the people in the constituency from where he was elected in 2002. He had defeated Krishen Chander by a margin of1765 votes. The moment the party leadership came to know that the ground was rough for Faquir Nath , Harsh Dev Singh, who is an influential political leader in the constituency, was asked to rush to the area and win over the voters support for Faquir Nath. During his two-day stay in the constituency, Harsh Dev met a cross section of voters and some local leaders and assured them that he would be personally looking after their problems. He appealed to the voters to vote for the Panthers Party candidate because vote for the Panthers Party was vote against discrimination with the Jammu region. The Panthers Party, which is making a determined bid to emerge as a major group in the Assembly, banks on Faquir Nath's victory. Hitherto, the party leadership is confident to retain the four seats it had won in 2002 and is keen to add at least 10 more seats .Party sources said that the Panthers supremo may also visit Chenani to assuage the ruffled feelings of the voters in order to ensure that the party candidate was reelected. |
