Chairman DDC chairs meeting of JPDCL officials, reviews action plan of rural electrification

DODA, June 4: Chairman District Development Council, Dhananter Singh Kotwal today chaired the meeting of officials of JPDCL to review the performance of the department in rural electrification under different CSS and District Capex.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held with regard to action plan regarding shifting of rotten poles and barbed wires from the trees, physical and financial progress of the works approved and taken up under last year district capex, status of new works, physical and financial status of B2V works, coverage in electrification of left out areas under RGGVY, DDUGJY, PMDP, besides, augmentation and upgradation issues were also discussed in detail.
It was apprised to the chair by the SE JPDCL that in the last financial year all the 128 approved works were completed across all the divisions of the district both physically and financially. New plan comprising of more than 150 works under different PRI heads is under process, out of which certain works are not feasible to execute against which the new works are requested to be projected.
In addition to this the Ex En project division also apprised the chair that under RGGVY and DDUGJY approximately 148 and 30 transformers have been installed out of which around 130 and 29 transformers have been charged under respective schemes and 21 number of habitations have been electrified in Dessa area and other left out areas will be covered under RDSS scheme for which the DDC Chairman directs to ensure speedy coverage and to prepare all the DPRs in advance so that they shall be taken up under the said scheme without any further delay.
The Chairman also directed the department to submit the saving and tendering details of works under ST villages of Bhaderwah, besides asked to ensure timely completion of pending works of B2V and to take disciplinary action against the erring contractors if any.
The SE apprised the chair that around 2652 distribution transformers are installed across the district including rural areas. In addition to this he also highlighted the figures about the recent damages, besides informed that there are approximately 71 thousand registered users out of which around 38 thousand are metered and around 32 thousand are unmetered for which the Chairman directed the concerned to install meters so that usage of power supply by the general public can be regulated and accordingly charged. He also directed to ensure cabling in the densely pouplated localities across the district for proper regulation of electricity usages.
The Chairman further directed the concerned to pay the pending dues of labourers engaged under Saubhagya for which the department said that the bills are ready and as soon as the funds shall be allotted the payments shall be made in favour of the labour, besides it was also directed to the department to instruct their field functionaries to work in close coordination with the elected representatives so that general public aspirations shall be incorporated in the developmental plans.
The meeting was attended by Syed Asim Hashmi Councillor DDC Gundna Constituency, ADDC Doda Pran Singh, SE JPDCL Kishtiwar Circle, Ex Ens, besides AEEs, AEs, JEs.
