RTI, social activist files nomination for DGPC Election from Jammu East

JAMMU, June 4: Today a renowned Social/RTI Activist filed his nomination papers for contesting the coming elections for the constitution of District Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee which are to be held on 27th of June. Large number of prominent personalities from Jammu as well as from Jammu East, Gandhi Nagar, Constituency accompanied S Balvinder at the time of filling the Nomination papers in the office of ARO Jammu.
Singh appealed the Sikh community of the constituency to support him on merits and he assured that if elected he would take up the issues pertaining to the Sikh Community, which have already been taken up by him at PMO/ MHA and at various levels with present dispensation and the respective authorities for mitigation and redressal of the demands pending since a long time. Some of the important issues already taken up includes : inclusion of Punjabi in the JKUT official language Bill 2020, due compensation to the NOK's of those killed in anti Sikh riots of 19789, inclusion of one Sikh member in the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission, inclusion of Sikh youth of Kashmir valley in the Special Employment Package under non migrant Quota, implementation of Anand Marriage Act, already passed in the Parliament in the year 20121, extend the implementation of National Minority Commission Act in JKUT, installation of the Statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadhur at Kunjwani Chowk Jammu. One of the most important issue taken up by Sikh Progressive Front, headed by Balvinder Singh, with Home Ministry and Defence Ministry for taking Control of the management and day to day affairs of Gurudwara Pathar Sahib Leh and file is still lying for disposal.
Singh further stated that due care shall be given to the welfare of Gurudwara Staff in respect of adequate pay scales so that they should live a decent and dignified life, as on date there is a lot of disparity in their pay scales singh also assured the staff that due care shall also be taken for their proper accommodation and shall try with best to take care of quality education for their children and health care for their families.
Singh assured that he will take every possible step to get the matter resolved with the coordination of elected co members, if got mandate.
