NYK Udhampur starts third Orientation training for youngs volunteers

JAMMU, June 4: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India started its third 3 Days Block level orientation training of youth volunteers and members of youth clubs on "Investors' Awareness, Education and Protection" at Panchayat Baredian, Block Udhampur. The objective of the programme is to make the people aware of various investment schemes, protection from Ponzi schemes and cyber frauds. The 3 days programme was inaugurated by DDC Chairman Lal Chand, BDC Chairman Balwan Singh in the presence of District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta, officials of JK Bank and members of youth clubs
At the outset, DYO Khushal Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest & other participants and briefed about the objectives of the programme. He added that the event being organised in collaboration with IEPFA, Ministry of Corporate Affairs aims at sensitizing the youth about Cyber Frauds, Govt. Securities, Banking and Insurance, Equities, Mutual Funds and Post Office schemes. He said that during the 3 days training, the resource persons / subject experts will deliver lectures associated with their respective departments. Kritika Ramesh (Assistant Manager JK Bank) gave an awareness lecture on various schemes and initiatives being taken by the govt. towards maximsing financial inclusion. She focused on Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samridhhi Yojana and loans and incentives that are issued to the farmers and the marginalized. JKP S.I Rahul Jamwal stressed on cyber frauds and cyber bullying and spoke about means of their redressal.
DDC Chairman Lal Chand while appreciating the efforts of NYK Udhampur for reaching to the remotest corners encouraged the youth to learn from such orientation programmes and urged them to take this awareness at the village level. He also added that the entire PRI team across the district is ready to extend cooperation for organizing such activities in any Panchayat. BDC Chairman Sh. Balwan Singh also quoted several examples of victims of cyber frauds and said that it is the need of the hour to generate awareness on investment and its protection. Among others present on the occasion were Ajay Kumar (President of Roun Youth Club), NYV Mahesh Sharma and NYV Suman.
