| NC candidate, Congress rebel file papers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 3: Former minister Ajat Shatru Singh, Balwan Singh former MLA and state youth president of Bhartiya Sampuran Krantikari party Mohit Gupta today filed their nomination papers from their respective constituencies. Shiv Sena Hindustan candidate Rajiv Mahajan also foiled his papers from Jammu East constituency. While Ajat Shatru filed his papers as National Conference from Nagrotra constituency, Thakur Balwant Singh on the persistent demand of his supporters including block presidents and sarpanches of Marh block filed his papers from Marh constituency as an independent candidate. Mohit Gupta filed papers from Jammu East on the BSK party ticket. Accompanied by a large number of supporters Ajat Shatru filed his nomination papers and while addressing the gathering he appealed the electorate to make a history by voting in this favour and bringing back the National Conference to power. Coming down heavily of his opponents especially the Congress, Ajatshatru said that the rising inflation and unemployment has broken the back of the common man and held Congress led UPA government responsible for steep rise in the prices of the essential commodities. He assured the people that if NC is voted to power, the state is bound to march towards progress and prosperity with every region and area getting its due share. Thakur Balwan Singh after filing his nomination papers told a gathering to remain united and foil the vicious propaganda of those who have been claiming of all round development in the state as also in the constituency during their tenures. On this occasion, several workers of BJP, NC, PDP extended their fullest support to Singh and decided to campaign in his favour. Mohit Gupta of BSKP after submitting his nomination papers addressed a gathering assuring them that if elected he would fight for the growing discrimination with the Jammuties and also ensure development of the constituency. |
