JAMMU, June 7: Police have recovered rusted arms and ammunition including a carbine and a mortar shell from a well on Tuesday in bordering Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"During patrolling duty at about 1530 hours, information was received that objects like arms and ammunition have been found from a well in Chack Manga village of Samba during cleaning of an old well by the locals," police said.
They said that senior police officials rushed to the spot and recovered the objects including one carbine, two carbine magazines, one magazine's spring and a mortar shell.
"All recovered items were in a rusted condition," they said. |
