Randhawa kick-starts construction work of lane, drain

JAMMU, June 7: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa has kick-started the construction work of lane and drain at an estimated cost of Rs 7 lakh at Shiv Shakti Mohallah in Narwal Bala Panchayat of Jammu East here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Former Legislator said that with construction of lane and drain in the area, the people will get respite from the problems being faced by them, particularly in the rainy season. He said that this was a long pending demand of the area which has been fulfilled today. He also interacted with the locals and listened to area's developmental issues.
Former Legislator said that several development works have been launched to improve the overall condition of lanes and drains, link roads, and other amenities in neglected areas.
He asked locals to identify developmental needs of their area so that the works can be enlisted for execution by the concerned departments on priority.
He assured that all pending development works in the area and other development works of the area would be fulfilled in a phase manner.
He further assured that no compromises will be made on quality of construction works and in this regard he has issued directions to concerned authorities and contractors to adhere to the defined norms.
He said that regular monitoring is also being done to ensure no lapses. He also stressed upon locals to avail benefits under various flagship welfare schemes and programmes launched by the central governments. Randhawa appealed to the public to follow the instructions/guidelines issued by the Government for controlling the further spread of corona virus among the public. He said people should refrain from going to market places un-necessarily. By adopting the guidelines and adopting the preventive measures everyone will be saving his life and the lives of others too. He also appealed to the businessmen, who gradually have started their business to adopt the safety measures so as to control the further spread of corona virus.
Former MLC Vikram Randhawa further said that several projects are underway to provide all basic amenities including better connectivity, safe drinking water, better sanitation to the people.
He exhorted upon the concerned departments for proper utilization of resources and strict adherence to quality norms. He stressed for strict vigil by the inhabitants to cross check the quality of material being used during the execution of developmental works in their area.
While speaking, the residents applauded the efforts of the Former Legislator and assured their full support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
