NC will continue its struggle for restoration of full fledged state to J&K: Babu Rampaul | | | Early Times Report BANI, June 7: Former Minister and President of National Conference Central Zone (Jammu, Samba & Kathua), Babu Rampaul, who was chief Guest of the occasion said that NC stood for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and would continue to raise pitch for the same as this issue is directly affecting all its residents. This was stated by Babu Rampaul while addressing the gathering of party office bearers and workers during a day-long convention at Bani in Kathua district.The convention was organized by Sandesh Shan, Zonal Secretary and Coordinator Pahari district Kathua and was also addressed Dr Vikas Sharma, Amrish Sharma, Sham lal Mehra, Adv Aslam Choudhary, BD Dalhotra, Arvind Jamwal, MK Rana, SatPal Shabotra, Raja Rafiq and others. Babu Rampaul mentioned that during the rule of the National Conference, J&K witnessed an era of peace, harmony and equitable development. "NC leadership never discriminated against any section of the society and maintained balanced development of both the regions. But with the obliteration of statehood and downgrading J&K to the level of Union Territory, the suffering of the people got multiplied with public facing wrath of inflation and high prices of daily use. The business community, small traders and commoners are all suffering due to policy paralysis and deep rooted corruption at all level . Their sufferings can only be redressed by restoring statehood to J&K," he asserted. He asked the office bearers and workers to launch sustained public campaigns at grassroot levels to strengthen the cadre at ward and block level. He asked the office bearers to constitute booth level committees in all the booths/wards for effective communication and propagation of party ideology and policies with the local residents. He also laid emphasis on constituting special committees of female party workers as well for this purpose. He also advised the local leadership to organize Public Darbars on a periodical basis to ascertain public grievances for their appropriate redressal. Babu Rampaul expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of basic facilities in Bani town and the nearby villages. He said, "The present dispensation has failed to ensure facilities to students in educational institutions, healthcare and potable water facilities to the general public." He demanded that the administration should reach out to these areas to redress the public grievances. Also speaking on the occasion, Sandesh Shan highlighted that roads are in total dilapidated conditions, public facilities are lacking and people facing difficulties in getting their work done in offices. He warned the administration to come out of their comfort zone and redress public grievances otherwise the NC cadre will launch sustained agitation.
