| J&K Bank, Police XI in semis of football | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 3: Jammu and Kashmir Bank XI and Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir Police today sailed into the semi-finals of ongoing Senior Jammu Open Football Tournament organised by Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
In the first quarterfinal of the day, title contender, J&K Bank blanked lowly International Club 7-0. Naseem Yousuf and Harpreet Singh scored two goals each while Toufeeq Ahmed and Vikramjeet Singh were other scorers.
Beating Jammu United by a solitary goal, the Jammu and Kashmir Police XI also made it into the semi-finals today. Though Police XI had taken early lead scoring in the very second minute of the match through Zuber, yet Jammu United boys keep on fighting for a breakthrough.
Today’s matches were officiated by Ronney Kumar, Sunil Gupta, Ketan, Hilal Ahmed and Harmanjeet Singh.
Prominent among those who witnessed the matches were R K Kohli, Dr Nirmolak Singh, S M Gill, Kuldeep Singh, David Masih, Yousuf Dan, Master Salim, Ramesh Chander and Surinder Singh Bunty. |
