YCET Students Visit Flyover, Muthi, State Cancer Hospital | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 7: The Visit was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering of Yogananda College of Engg & Technology to "Flyover, Muthi to Canal Head and State Cancer Hospital, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu for 8th semester students. During the visit MK Koul, a renowned Contractor along with his team interacted with the faculty and students and described the Working processes of various works like laying of RMC, bar bending schedule, Rain Water Harvesting, Compaction of soil, about various types of welding etc going on in the final stage of flyover. The total length of flyover is 8.3 kms and is four lane flyover having footpath on either side supported by crash barriers, total 173 piers are raised and concrete girders are placed by mobile cranes. Due to this project, the traffic congestion can be addressed and saves the precious time. This visit was very fruitful because students got deep insight knowledge and information about the whole project After this visit, students were taken to State Cancer Hospital, Bakshi nagar and witnessed the best practices at sight. There Abid Anayat (Project Engineer), Ikhlaq Ahmed (Project Engineer) interacted and shared Architectural and Structural drawings and discussed the mix design, quality control, material management recourse management, about estimation etc. |
