Mehbooba Mufti condemns "Al-Qaeda" threat to India
6/8/2022 11:00:03 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 8: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday condemned the alleged threat of Al Qaeda to India.
"I condemn the Al Qaeda threat…….any kind of threat either from Al Qaida or else Peoples Democratic Party condemn it", the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Srinagar today.
She said, the BJP spokesperson blasphemous remarks on Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslims around the world.
"The Muslims all around the world are angered by the words the BJP spokesperson used against the Prophet (SAW)", Mehbooba said.
"The Al Qaeda threat…I don't know where it has come from…But a narrative of BJP that Hindu is in danger the BJP got another plank to utilize this threat to explore it against the Muslims", she said.
She said the BJP should have taken a stern action against their spokesperson and put her into jail for these comments.
"When all Muslim countries show their resentment against the blasphemous comments and some even threatened to boycott the Indian goods it has opened the eyes of the government who took a little bit action', Mehbooba added.
Mehbooba said such happenings are tarnishing the image of India in the national and international fora.
Regarding the less presence of Kashmiri Pandits at Tulmulla Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal, Mehbooba said that they are scared due to the recent targeted killings which keep them away. "It is unfortunate that the Kashmiri Pandits who have been put in transit camps are not being allowed to move out. Children of some of them were ill and needed medical treatment ``, Mehbooba alleged.
"In such an atmosphere it is evident the presence of people of a particular community at Kheer Bhawani witnessed less", She said.
"I am sure that the situation will not persist. Like in the earlier thousands of Pandits visiting the Kheer Bhawani will again throng the place", she hoped.
