Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 8: To celebrate the glorious 8 years of Modi Government, Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa visited Yogi Mohallah Shiv Nagar Panchayat Dharap Jammu South RS Pura Assembly segment.
While interacting with the residents, Former Legislator Vikram Randhawa informed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organizing 75 hours long public outreach programme to aware the people about the achievements of the Modi Government in the past eight years.
As the residents present on the occasion were mostly from farmers' community, Randhawa aware them about the Pradhan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kissan), which is a Central Sector Scheme that provides income support to the families of landholding farmers in India.
"The State Government or the UT Government is solely responsible for identifying the eligible farmers' families for providing benefits under this scheme. After registration of the farmers on the PM-Kissan portal, the prevailing record of lands or land ownership systems in different states or UT's will be used to identify and shortlist the beneficiaries for transferring the benefits under this scheme", Former Legislator informed.
"Central Government is providing Rs 6000 per year to a farmer family, which the successive Governments in the Centre failed during their tenures", he said, adding that Prime Minister realised the problems of the farmers and initiated Prahan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi.
Under this scheme, the Central Government is depositing Rs 6000 per year in every farmers account, Randhawa said, adding that in Jammu and Kashmir, there are 12.50 lakh beneficiaries, who are being benefitted with this scheme of the Central Government.
Randhawa informed that during recent visit of the Prime Minister to Shimla, he released Rs 21,000 crore to 10 crore farmers as the 11th instalment of the Kissan Samman Nidhi.
Farmers are the back bone of a country and their efforts are being hailed as they work towards the country to make it hunger free, Randhawa said and applauded the Prime Minister for launching Pradhan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi for the benefit of the farmers.
Among others present were Bharat Bhushan Mandal President, Swarn Singh Pappy Panch, Madan Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Krishan Lal, etc.
