BJP Govt fails to protect lives of innocent citizens in Kashmir

JAMMU, June 8: A meeting of Core Group of SC Department of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee held here today at PCC HQ Shahidi Chowk Jammu, presided over by Karan Bhagat, Chairman..
The meeting condemned in strongest terms the continued targeted killings of innocents especially minorities and dalits in Kashmir and termed it as total failure of BJP Govt to handle the situation. It demands urgent and effective measures to stop innocent killings and ensure the safety of common man and minorities in Kashmir. The demanded that all the employees of Jammu posted in Kashmir should be transferred to Jammu, as they are unsafe in Kashmir.
Core Group discussed upcoming programmes as per party's Udaipur Nav Sankalap Declaration, the Leadership Development Mission (LDM) in SC/ST) reserved constituencies and Sadhbhavana Mission to expand congress party's outreach amongst SC, ST, OBC and Minority Communities and promote harmony among the communities.
Speaking on the occasion Karan Bhagat said that the objective of Leadership Development Mission (LDM) is to invigorate Congress party outreach activities in SC/ST Department and Assembly Constituencies with a view to win the confidence of the people in general and SC,ST,OBC and Minority communities in particular.
He said that in order to spread the outreach activities at the Booth level, leaders drawn from SC, ST, OBC and Minority communities at the Booth level will be promoted and empowered.
Besides Coordinators for each SC/ST Assembly Constituencies will be deployed to coordinate these activities in the respective, Assembly.
Karan Bhagat said that the SC Department in coordination with ST, OBC and Minority Departments will launch massive outreach programmes in every District of Jammu and Kashmir. The Dept. will also launch the leadership Development Mission in SC,ST in Assembly Constituencies for better performance in coming Assembly elections.
Later, he (Karan Bhagat) assigned the charge to State level office bearers of various districts of the State, who will work with full dedication to make the programme a great success.
