| Candidate dies after filing papers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 3: Minutes after filing his nomination for the seventh and last phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly election, an independent candidate died here this afternoon following a massive heart attack. Ghulam Mohammad Wadoo, 55, complained of chest pain soon after entering the fray from Sonawar constituency in Kashmir valley, official sources said. Wadoo, a former local National Conference leader, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced brought dead. He suffered a massive heart attack and died on way to hospital, doctors said. Wadoo is the second Independent candidate to die soon after submitting papers for the staggered election. On November 22, militant-turned-politician Bilal Ahmad Khan alias Bilal Lodhi, who entered the race from Beerwah constituency in Budgam district, died following cardiac arrest. |
