GDC Udhampur organizes Intra-college Symposium

Jammu, June 8: Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College Udhampur organized an Intra-College Symposium on the theme “Donating blood is an act of Solidarity.
Join the Efforts and Save Lives 2022” to raise the awareness among the students of the need for safe blood and blood products. Several students of different stream participated actively in the symposium and share their views regarding said theme.
Antriksha of B.Sc. Sem-6th was adjudged First, 2nd position was secured by Ruhani Magotra of B.Sc. Sem-6th and Abhishek Shonka of B.Sc. Sem-6th bagged 3rd position. Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, the Worthy Principal of the College, was the Chief Guest who formally opened the event and mingled with the participants and organizing members of the Red Ribbon Club.
On this occasion, the Principal of the College emphasized the importance of organizing such programmes in campus, which play an important role in creating awareness among the student community, who are the nation’s future leaders.
Principal of the College further appreciated the Prof. Jawaid Sarver, Convener of Red Ribbon Club and other Club members for their efforts to organize such wonderful awareness program on the occasion of Celebration of World Blood Donor Day-2022.
Prof. Seema Kotwal, the senior most faculty member of the College, also spoke with students and participants, highlighting the specific aims and objectives of this year’s World Blood Donor Day campaign, which include thanking blood donors around the world and raising public awareness of the importance of regular, unpaid blood donation; recognizing and promoting the merits of voluntary unpaid blood donation in improving community solidarity and social cohesion etc. Other prominent personalities present in this occasion Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, HOD Botany, Prof. Imitiaz Shahid, Dr. Swarn Singh, Prof. Sonia Raj and Prof. Anoksha. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Prof. Sonia Raj.
