Early Times Report
SAMBA, June 9: On behalf of NC President, Former Chief Minister & Member of Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah and Party's Vice President Omar Abdullah, National Conference leaders led by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President NC Jammu today visited the family of slain teacher Rajni Bala at Village Nankachak in Samba to condole her unfortunate and untimely demise.
Expressing profound grief over the painful departure of the lady teacher, Gupta said, it is a cruel joke with the bereaved family that government has given only Rs 1 lakh to the kin of the slain teacher, which is nothing but peanuts. He demanded that atleast Rs. 1 crore should be given to the family of Rajni Bala besides complete expenditure of her daughter's studies and reserve government job under the concerned SRO, till she attains the age of maturity because the onus of the tragic death totally lies on the shoulders of the Government.
Rattan Lal also asked the government to immediately transfer Raj Kumar, the husband of late Rajni Bala to Samba as he (Raj Kumar) is presently working as a Teacher at the Govt Middle School (GMS) for Boys, Mirhame in district Kulgam of Kashmir province. He said that government should transfer him to Samba in the interest of the family in this hour of grave crisis.
Those who were present in the meeting included: Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Bimla Luthra, Master Noor Hussain, Vijay Lochan, Laxami Dutta, Mohinder Singh, Sudagar Chand Gupta, Suriya Begum, Rajni Devi, Reyaz Ahmed, Shehnaz, Ravi Sharma, Ram Kumar Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Balbir Singh, Joginder Kumar, Swaran Singh, Satpal, Nagar Mal Sharma, Sunil Mehra, Jaswant Singh Oberoi, Vijay Kumar and others.
