AD Physical Education declares IZDL tournament open at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, June 9: After the completion of Inter School Zonal Level (ISZL) competition, the Department of Youth Services and Sports today kick started the inter zonal District level competition here. The tournament was inaugurated by Assistant Director, Physical Education Jammu, Mool Raj Uttam, who was the chief guest at the inaugural session attended by District Youth services and sports officer Kharati Lal Sharma besides other guests and officers and officials of sports Department here here at Historic Chowghan Grounds .
Teams from Zone Drabshalla, Inderwal, Kishtwar, Nagseni & Padder are going to participate in this tournament being organized under the patronage of District Development Commissioner, Ashok Sharma. In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest stressed upon the participants to follow rules & take part in the sports and games with full dedication and bring laurels to district, J&K and the country.
The chief guest praised the role of DYSSO Kishtwar and his team for their work and personal attention given by DYSSO to promote sports in far flung areas. Before the inaugural match, a pledge ceremony was also organised.
The inaugural matches viz Tug of war competition between Zone Mughal Maidan and Zone Kishtwar and Volleyball match between Zone Drabshalla versus Zone Padder were kick started by the chief guest.
All matches will be played under the well experienced conveners and officials.
Meanwhile, the department organised a Padh Yatra at Block Inderwal under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-India @75 celebration which was flagged off by H/M Singhpora, Shabir Ahmed.
More than 200 students took part in yatra organised under the supervision of Block Incharge Rayees Ahmed.
Earlier in his welcome address, the DYSSO Kishtwar apprised about the activities conducted by the department in the district this year.
