EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 3: Even as people of Jammu constantly refuse to follow the communal agenda, the Bhartiya Janta Party is indulging in a ruthless campaign to divide communities and regions for a handful of votes.
Ironically, seeking to pit regions against each other, the BJP is pursuing paradoxically opposite agenda in Kashmir than what it says in Jammu. While local leaders of the party have been aggressively engaged in a hate campaign in the region, the national leaders who have started descending down on Jammu are further sharpening their tongues.
Riding high on the Shri Amarnath temple land row agitation, BJP was expecting a sweeping wave in its favour but now since people have rejected its communal and divisive agenda and the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti too has refused to promote its political agenda the party has gone into a frustration mode. In view of intense internal bickering and rebellion and a host of candidates joining the fray to cut into its vote bank, the BJP is now showing the images of charred bodies and blood stains of victim of terrorism.
In ‘selling’ the mutilated bodies from scenes of terror attacks to project other parties as soft on terrorism, the BJP is forgetting that it this party which released terror mastermind Maulana Masud Azhar from Jammu’s Central Jail eight years back. All courtesy goes to the BJP for releasing this one of the most dangerous mastermind of violence from the jail who unleashed a reign of terror against India and still continues to call shots from Pakistan.
Post Mumbai attacks, when the UPA Government has asked Pakistan to hand over 20 fugitives to India including Masood Azhar, the country is reminded of the BJP led NDA Government which took first initiative of projecting India as ‘soft state’ vulnerable to attacks at the will of terrorists.
