Srinagar, Dec 4: Deputy Chief Election Commissioners of India, Mr. R. Bhatacharya and Mr. R. Balakrishnan reviewed poll arrangements for the remaining four phases of Assembly elections at a meeing of Election Observers, District Election Officers and senior Police and Security officers here today.
The meeting, among others, was attended by Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Mr. B.R. Sharma, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Mr. Masuad Samoon and IGP Kashmir.
The Deputy Chief Election Commissioners were briefed about the arrangements put in place in the districts going to polls in the next four phases to ensure conduct of free and fair elections. The matters pertaining to security, training to the poll staff, randomization of polling stations etc. were also discussed in the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Election Commissioners stressed on strict adhering of the Model Code of Conduct by all concerned. They also called for synerigized coordination among various agencies and departments for ensuring transparent and free elections in the state.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Election Commissioners took stock of poll arrangements and related matters at a meeting of officers at Baramulla.
The meeting was attended by Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Additional Director General CRPF, IG Kashmir, District Election Officer, Baramulla, DIG Baramulla and SSP were also present in the meeting. |
