| Election of President of Municipal Council Kathua Challenged | | HC ordered election of President shall be subject to the final order | | Jammu, September, 15:- In a writ petition challenging the election of Mr. Naresh Kumar Sharma as President Municipal Council Kathua, Justice JP Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today after hearing Advocate RK Gupta appearing for the petitioner issued notice requisites for service within one week and disposed of CMP by providing that election of Mr. Naresh Kumar as President Municipal Council Kathua shall be subject to the Final orders that may be passed in the writ petition.
According to the writ petition filed by one Rajeshwar Singh that Mr. Rajinder Singh, who was elected President of Municipal Council Kathua, it appears that some members wanted to get rid of Mr. Rajinder Singh as President. In the petition it has been alleged that a conspiracy which hatched and instead of proceedings in a legal manner approached Director Urban Local Bodies for removing Mr. Rajidner Singh as President and holding a fresh election. This communication treated as vote of no confidence by Director Local Bodies and directed Executive Officer Kathua Municipal Council to go head with election. In the petition it has been submitted that the action of illegal and seeking quashment of the order of election and notification of Mr. Naresh Kumar Sharma as president. |
