Sikh Progressive Front demands induction of Sikh member in J&K PSC

JAMMU, June 13: Today A special meeting of Sikh Progressive Front was convened by S Balvinder Singh President SPF and attended by other prominent members of the Front to discuss the important issue of the Sikh Community especially demand for induction of Member from Sikh Community in the J&K Public Service Commission of JKUT .
At present and also in the past for many years there has been no representation from the Sikh Community in the JKPSC which could take care of the Sikh Youths in the employment generated by the UT Administration and recruited through PSC.
It is pertinent to ,mention that this issue was raised by SPF with the UT Administratioin and subsequently with the Honourable LG Manoj Sinha on 13.05.2021, and we were assured by LG Sahib that as and when there will be any post of member will be vocated by any retiring member, representative from the Sikh Community will be inducted as a member in the JKPSC. Now members of SPF are confident and hope that the assurances given to SPF by the LG will be fulfilled and a suitable Sikh Candidate shall be inducted as member in the JKPSC which is likely to be constituted soon.
Besides this important issue other various issues taken up during the meeting including amendment of SRO-425 and make provision for inclusion of Non migrant Sikh youths of valley in the special Employment Package which is presently limited to non migrant Kashmiri Pandits only. Installation of the statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk, which already stands approved by the House of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Implementation of Anand Marriage Act and framing its rules & regulation in JKUT. Implementation of Minority Commission Act in JKUT. Inclusion of Punjabi language in the JKUT official Language Bill. Due compensation to be given to the NOK's of 14 Sikhs killed in anti Sikh Riots of 1989 in Jammu, the case filled by SPF before MHA is already lying pending in GAD Jammu for final disposal.
Other Prominent persons present in the meeting are S Manjit Singh Vice President,m S S Surinder Singh Wazir Secretary SPF, S Janak Singh, S Rajinder Singh, S Sharanjit Singh, S Iqbal Singh,S Varinder Pal Singh, S Jasvinder Singh,S Tejinder Singh, S Manmohan Singh, S Amitpal Singh, S Dilbag Singh.
