PM Modi doing everything to empower J&K: Sat

JAMMU, June 13: Former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator Ward 18, Dinesh Gupta kick started the works of lanes and Covering of Drains at Sarwal Chowk area. Accompanied by a large number of people including Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, Sharma started the works in the presence of local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be executed under the supervision of the JMC Department at an estimated cost of Rs 11 lakhs. Pertinent to mention after laying of water pipes, the works pertaining to development of lanes and drains had to be taken up as after laying pipes the lanes were dug and there was a dire need to construct the lanes.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was a long pending demand of the residents of the area which was under process for decades and keeping in view the shortage of water in these areas, the works had to be taken up in order to provide adequate water supply to the residents and further the works of construction of lanes and covering of drains. He also appreciated the efforts of local Corporator and officials of the concerned department for sanctioning the works and stated that the present Government under the leadership of PM Modi is doing everything to empower J&K and to provide every basic necessity to each and every resident of Jammu and Kashmir. He also stated that areas where problems persist will also be dealt with on priority so that problems concerning anything do not occur.
Dinesh Gupta said during the tenure of former MLA several tube wells and overhead tanks in various areas of Jammu West were constructed which ended the problem of low water supply in summer season. He also talked about the developmental works done in the Ward and said that many more are still in the pipeline which will make the Ward a modern Ward in coming days.
Raveesh Mengi said that today every Ward of Jammu West is equipped with modern infrastructure and that is due to the efforts of former MLA who right from the day one is working hard to mitigate the sufferings of the masses, he added.
District Secretary Sangeeta Gupta, Sanjay Bhat, Karan, Madan Pandey, Ashok Gandhi, Ramesh Rattan, Rattan Lal, Rakesh Guta, Sunny Gupta, Rajinder Kapoor, Adarsh Gupta, Amrik Singh and several others were also present.
