| Governor’s tribute to Sheikh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DEC 4: Paying tribute to Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on his birth anniversary, Governor, Mr N N Vohra, has described Sher-e-Kashmir as one of tallest leaders of his times whose secular and progressive outlook continues to be a source of inspiration. The Governor observed that Sheikh Abdullah had strived all his life for strengthening communal bonds between various sections of the society and referred to his pioneering and revolutionary role in introducing land reforms which were aimed at empowering the actual tillers of the soil. Vohra recalled the contribution of Sher-e-Kashmir in leading the people of the State towards the goal of political emancipation and socio-economic development. "Sheikh Sahib's contribution to the governance of the State provide guidance to all of us in our endeavours to again put Jammu and Kashmir on the path of peace, progress and prosperity", the Governor added. |
