| Beig stages first appearance in Baramulla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Sheeri, Dec 4: A day after National Conference president Omer Abdulha addressed a an election rally to muster votes for NC's Baramulla candidate Nazir Ahmed Khan, senior People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former deputy Chief Minster Muzzafar Hussain Beigh on Thursday held a road show and later addressed an impressive public gathering at Sheeri main market. While addressing a public gathering, Biegh said that it was People's Democratic Party that gave sense of security to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that political stability was necessary for the restoration of peace and development in the state. He said, "PDP contest elections to repeal POTA, disband infamous SOG and start un-conditional talks on Kashmir." "We did what we had promised. When our party came to power, we called Army chief and told him that people shouldn't be harassed unnecessarily," added Biegh. Lunching scathing attack on National Conference, Beigh said, "It was NC which singed ban on employment with center government owing to which grave problem unemployment still rant and rave state." "They (NC) have done historical blunders due to which people of Kashmir are suffering. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will never forgive them. It was NC which made India and Pakistan to fight wars," said Beigh. PDP wanted peace and development with honour for Kashmir. "This massive public rally is eye opener for NC cadre who calms strong hold in the belt." Appealing people to make right decisions in forthcoming elections, he asked people to compare the development of last 50 years with that his tenure. Beigh while highlighting the development works which took place in Barmaulla district during PDP lead collation government. "I swear I have no interest in politics now but I completed to contest elections to complete the development works and provide employment to the educated unemployed youth," said Biegh. "Vote for PDP and see our development in last 5 years," Beigh appealed to people. |
