DDC Rajouri reviews achievements under Developmental Deliverables of ICDS, Social Welfare Departments

RAJOURI, June 17: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the achievement of Developmental Deliverables of ICDS and Social Welfare Department.
The meeting discussed prescribed targets set for the twin departments, including prosthetic aid saturation, establishment of old age homes, improving the functioning of Orphanages, narinikatans, beautification of AWCs, ECCE Nanhe Kadam, issuing electronic health cards to the ICDS beneficiaries and display of pensioner's list in every Panchayat.
While reviewing the functioning of Nari Nikatans and Orphanages, the meeting was informed that there is one Nari Nikatan and 4 Bal Ashrams functional in the district. It was further informed that the process for setting up an Old age Home was in progress.
The meeting was also apprised that the list of the pensioners have been displayed in 160 panchayats.
Regarding Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) Nanhe Kadam, the PO ICDS informed that the initiative has been launched in all the Anganwadi centres.
Seeking the progress made under prosthetic aid saturation, the DDC stressed on conducting a fresh survey and directed the DSWO to collaborate with ICDS and RDD, to identify persons in need of the prosthetic aids.
Discussing the functioning Anganwadi centres, the PO ICDS apprised that there were as many as 1669 Anganwadi centres in the district. It was also apprised that 29 Anganwadi centres are functioning in Govt buildings. The DDC asked to develop the 29 Anganwadi centres functioning in Govt buildings as model Anganwadi centres. The PO ICDS was directed to ensure availability of all logistics in these Anganwadi centres.
Likewise, the progress on the beautification of the Anganwadi centres was also discussed. It was informed that beautification work on 70 percent Anganwadi centres in the district has been completed and these have been named as 'Visible Anganwadi Centres.'
Regarding Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), it was apprised that 636 beneficiaries have been enrolled under the scheme.
While reviewing the drinking water facilities in the AWCs, the DDC asked the concerned officers to submit the list of the AWCs which don't have functional drinking water facilities so that the same can be ensured at the earliest.
Regarding issuing electronic health cards to the ICDS beneficiaries, he asked the concerned officer from ICDS Department to liaise with the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team and ensure that electronic health cards are issued to all the ICDS beneficiaries between 0-6 years age group.
Officers present in the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; DIO, Narinder Kumar and other concerned officers.
