| Iconic Yoga Week camp takes off in Bani zone | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 17: Government Higher Secondary School Bani today started the Iconic Yoga Week camp in the run up to the celebration of 8th International Yoga Day.
The event, being held on the direction of DSEJ Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma and under the guidance of CEO Kathua, P.L. Thappa, was inaugurated by the School Principal Hafiz Shiekh.
ZICC Billawar and Yoga Master Trainer, Sutinder Gupta demonstrated different Yoga Asanas during the camp attended by around 100 NSS Volunteers and 40 teachers of different cluster schools of Zone Bani.
A declamation contest on "Importance of Yoga and Yoga For Respiratory Health" was also conducted.
In his address, the Principal highlighted the initiative taken by the PM Narendra Modi after which UNO declared 21 June as International Yoga Day. He also stressed on practicing Yoga in today life.
The ZEO Bani, Hem Raj Sharma also participated in the Yoga Camp and thanked the participating teachers and also stressed on the need to train teachers in Yoga so that they can train their students in their respective schools. |
