| MAM College bags Lawn Tennis trophy | | Inter-college competitions | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 4: Defeating the title holders, Post Graduate (PG) Departments of University of Jammu 2-1 in the final, Government MAM College clinched the inter-college lawn tennis tournament played at University of Jammu courts, here today.
In the singles, Arjun Sharma outplayed Sahil Sahil Aggarwal 8-3 while Nitin Kesar lost to Abhik Gupta 8-2. However, in deciding doubles, the pair of Nitin and Arjun Sharma trounced Arun and Abhik 8-6 to emerge winners.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, PG Departments downed Government SPMR College of Commerce 2-1. The results: Singles: Abhik Gupta bt Vikram Dhawan 8-6 while Sahil Aggarwal lost to Karan Jalotra 7-8. Doubles: Abhik and Arun bt Vikram and Karan 8-1.
In the second semi-final, MAM College defeated Government Degree College Kathua 2-0. While Arjun Sharma blanked Vijay Deep 8-0, Nitin Kesar beat Amit Pal 8-1.
Today’s matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Rajan Tah and Vaneet Kumar under the supervision of Ramesh Magotra. |
