| PG Deptts women win cricket title | | Inter-college competitions | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 4: Government College for Women (GCW), Parade suffered a humiliating defeat in the hands of combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Department of University of Jammu in the final of inter-college women’s cricket tournament played at University of Jammu grounds, here today.
Batting first, after winning the toss, GCW Parade bowled out for a meager total of 33 runs in 16.2 overs of 20 overs match, which, in reply, PG Departments chased, rather easily, in 6.1 overs without loss.
Neetu and Ambika were top scorers with eight and five runs respectively. Sunita bowled a deadly spell taking away five wickets for three runs in three overs while Payal and Richa shared two wickets each.
Later, chasing a small target of 34 runs, PG Departments reached the required total in mere 6.1 overs with all wickets intact.
Today’s final match was officiated by Vijay Kumar and Rupali Slathia. |
