Protest demonstration organized by Udhampur unit of Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum
6/20/2022 11:03:37 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 20: On the direction of Ganesh Khajuria Chairman JKTF a protest demonstration was held by the District Udhampur unit of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, under the leadership of Ravinder Tripathi, District President. Hundreds of masters and teachers in order to express the anguish & annoyance against the gross violations of transfer policy took part in the protest demonstration.
Darshan Sharma, State Secretary, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Provincial President Jammu, Kuldeep Verma, General Secretary, P D Singh Provincial Chief Organizer and Gautam Singh Provincial Chief Coordinator also joined the protest. All the speakers strongly criticized the approach adopted by the authorities by transferring the masters by pick & choose policy in order to benefit their blue-eyed masters.
Tripathi lambasted the authorities for centralizing all the powers at the secretariat level which is the root cause of all the existing problems. He demanded for decentralization of powers to the subordinate officers as per the past practice in order to provide justice to the teaching community & also for the smooth & fair functioning of department. He appealed the authorities to address the burning issues at the earliest otherwise the protests will continue at District Headquarters on rotation basis.
The protesters said that at the transfer list of masters issued under ATD-2022 has many loopholes as many masters serving in the municipal limits and its periphery are again adjusted within the municipal limits and some adjusted in zero km distance which is gross violation of transfer policy. They said that scores of masters have been transferred from other districts to the Jammu city thereby leaving the posts of masters vacant in their own districts.
The protesters said that many of the masters who are going to retire within two years of their services also have been disturbed/ transferred as this will cause hardships in the final settlement of retirement cases. Furthermore, these masters should be adjusted at their home town posts which would facilitate easy settlement of retirement/pension cases. The protesters said that hundreds of masters have been working in the surplus capacity for so many years due to the non-serious approach of the authorities.
