DC reviews arrangements for Amarnath yatra, deploys Nodal Officers

RAMBAN, June 20: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting to review arrangements put in place by different departments for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022.
The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Mohita Sharma; ADC, Harbans Sharma; ACD, Zamir Ahmed Rishu; ACR, Dherinder Sharma; CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal, ACP, SDMs, Dy.SP Traffic, CMO, CEO, Executive Engineers of PWD, JPDCL, PMGSY and Jal Shakti, various seniors officers of different departments, representatives of National Highway Authorities of India and construction companies.
A threadbare discussion was held on duties assigned to Nodal Officers, water and power supply to langars, Lodgment centres, deployment of staff and youth volunteers for different tasks, provision of health care facilities, sanitation plan, establishment of langers, management of lodgment centres, maintenance of NH-44, parking of vehicles etc
Discussing the management of lodgment centres established by the District Administration to facilitate Yatries, the Deputy Commissioner directed Nodal Officers to ensure 24x7 functioning of the lodgment centres assigned to them. He also directed the Information Department to make all official social media handles vibrant to disseminate real time information among the people.
The DC directed Assistant Commissioner Panchayat and District Panchayat Officer to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all toilet units as per plan, while Chief Medical Officers was directed to ensure 24X7 health care facilities in all lodgment centres and at langer sites established alongside 66 km stretch of NH-44 from Nashri tunnel to Banihal Qazigund tunnel.
The Deputy Commissioner directed representatives of NHAI to station adequate men and machinery at all vulnerable locations to ensure real time clearance of roads in case of land sliding.
The SSP briefed the meeting about security arrangements and assured full cooperation to all civil departments for making necessary arrangements for the convenience of yatries. She asked the officers to work in coordination with the police department and take help from local SHO in this regard.
The SSP also briefed about the traffic Regulation Plan and passed necessary directions to concerned officers for implementing the same.
Earlier, ADC, who is also the Nodal Officer Yatra, briefed the meeting regarding the action plan to make Shri Anarnath Ji yatra 2022 successful. He asked the NHAI and other agencies to install hoarding and signboards to welcome the Yatries.
