JAMMU, June 20: YOGA FOR WELL BEING celebrating International Yoga Day 2022 started today on 20th of June under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and supervision of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan, Dr. Narinder Kumar and NCC ANO Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma. The event was coordinated by Mr Jia Lal Sharma (Sec. BYS Jk) under the aegis of azadi ka amrut mahotsav. The resource persons were Arun kumar pachnanda, Bharat Bhushan, Rajneesh Jain, Arun Gupta and Rajiv Gupta. About 100 NSS volunteers and NCC cadets participated today. Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (Regd.) J&K a social, cultural and non-profit making organization, serving the humanity/aspirants both within and outside India for the last 55 years now. The Organization has dedicated itself to the cause of teaching Yoga to people free of cost. The mission "Jio aur Jivan do" is aimed at making people happy and healthy through Yoga, an ancient Indian science for physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. The highlights of day one were use of yoga in reviving health. Building the mind and body connection by performing yoga asanas pranayama, shavasana, ushtasana, vajrasana, tadasan, virasan, alom vilom, padmasan, pranayam, bhavasan, kurmak asan, sahaja utkatasan, bhujung asan, siddhasan, etc. The workshop also emphasized on the need of healthy lifestyle and stress management through meditation, boosting immunity and laughter yoga. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga asanas are various body postures ranging from a sitting asana to positions where you are required to recline, stand, twist, and balance your body.
