Dr Darakhshan attends Annual Day of Faridiya Educational Research Institute

JAMMU, June 20: Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today presided over the 117th Annual Day function of Islamia Faridiya Educational & Research Institute held at its Kishtwar Campus. This premier educational & research institute serves Chinab Valley students in different streams & subjects. The function was attended by District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, SSP, Ex-MLAs, Ex-MLCs, the General Manager of NHPC, Institute Alumnae, Municipal Chairman Kishtwar Sajjad Najar, CEO of Waqf Board Dr Majid Jahangir, Administrator Waqf Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani and prominent citizens of Kishtwar & Doda. A cultural programme was presented by the students of the institute. Prominent ex-law makers Asghar peer, Qazi Jalaluddin, Khurshid Bhat and Tanveer Kichloo also participated. A complete report of achievements was presented by the Administrator before the Deputy Commissioner & SSP Kishtwar addressed the gathering. In her presidential address Dr Darakhshan Andrabi congratulated the Institute Management for their efforts to establish this Institute as the leading education & research hub in the area. She said that J&K Waqf Board will soon formulate a plan to give a boost to infrastructure & other facilities here so that this emerges as one of the leading Educational Centers of J&K and the Country. She instructed the management to formulate a plan for developing this Institute as a National Level Educational Centre. "Waqf Board has a huge educational set-up in J&K but it needs to be streamlined and improved. Many of Waqf-managed educational centres are in shambles and the new Board has taken note of it. We are devising a holistic roadmap to develop the existing educational network of Waqf within a year. With the help of the grant of the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, Waqf intends to begin some coaching centres for Competitive Examinations & Civil Services and also establish some skill-centres in the UT," said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. Waqf Board Chairperson congratulated the staff & the teaching faculty for their hard work which won laurels for this Institute.
