Mumbai, Sep 15 The CBI today sought death penalty for Yakub, Essa and Yusuf, all brothers of absconding prime accused Tiger Memon, who were found guilty in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, even as the accused pleaded for leniency in punishment.
For Rubina, sister-in-law of Tiger Memon, the fourth member of the Memon family found guilty by the Tada court, the CBI sought life imprisonment.
Making his arguments on the quantum of punishment on the four Memon family members, CBI lawyer C S Sharma said the three Memon brothers have committed "a brutal crime", and pleaded that this was the rarest of the rare case and capital punishment should be awarded to them. |
