Banned drugs, liquor seized; three arrested: Police

REASI, June 25: Continuing the drive against illicit liquor and drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi under Supervision of Sh Amit Gupta-JKPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Reasi Police arrested 03 liquor Smugglers and drug peddler and recovered 1000 capsules of Tramadol and 480 tablets of Alprazolam and 9 bottles of liquor from their possessions.
Team of Police Station Katra led by Insp Nishant Gupta Sho Katra under supervision of Sh Kuljeet Singh SDPO Katra during the routine checking of vehicles and pedestrian at Katra area, arrested two person namely 01. Darshan lal s/o Krishan lal R/O Panjar Tehsil Moungri District Udhampur 02. Tarsem lal s/o Raji ram R /O Chakhad Tehsil and District Jammu and recovered 09 bottles of alcohol from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No 180/2022 U/S.188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Katra and investigation initiated.
In another incident the team of Police Station Katra under overall supervision of Sh Amit Bhasin SP Katra arrested one drug peddler namely Sunil kumar S/O Yashpal R/O MH Road Command Hospital Udhampur along with 1000 capsules of Tramadol and 480 tablets of Alprazolam from their possessions.
In this regard a case FIR No. 181/2022 U/S 8/21/22 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Katra and investigation initiated to unearth forward and backward linkages.
SSP conveyed that Reasi Police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling from the area which is must to save the future generations.
