Sham Sharma inaugurates Anil Malhotra Memorial Knock out Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, June 25: Former Minister and Senior BJP Leader Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated 1st Anil Memorial Knock Out Cricket tournament organised by Shub Tilak Hospital Akhnoor in collaboration with Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor. Rakesh Malhotra Director Shub Tilak Multi-Speciality Hospital and Councillor Ward No 6 along with Deepak Mani Councillor Ward No 10 were the other dignitaries present during the inauguration of the tournament.
The first match of the tournament was played between Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor and Akhnoor Cricket Club. Toss of which was won by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor which decided to bowl first. Batting first Akhnoor Cricket Club scored 109/10 in 19.1 overs among which Nishant scored 21, Sumit Rajput scored 16, Anshu scored 13 and Deepak Sharma scored 12. From Singh Cricket Club Pankaj Verma and Pardeep Singh took 3 wickets each, Sunny Mahi got 2 wickets whereas Sumit Pandit and Sham Singh Langeh shared 1 wicket each.
Batting second Singh Cricket Club easily manged to chase the target and scored 113/6 in 15 overs. Arush Jamwal 38, Sunny Mahi 18, Rahul Manni 12, Manav 12, Chandan 11 were the top scorers from Singh Cricket Club. From ACC Aaqib and Parveen shared two wickets each, Arjun and Sumit Shared wickets each. Pankaj Verma was judged man of the match for his splendid performance.
Addressing the gathering during the tournament inaugural Sham Lal Sharma appreciated the organisers for organising such grand tournament. He further assured them that soon people of Akhnoor will provided with two good stadiums. He also announced to provide two cricket mats to the players for their practice. He appealed youth to make sports and games part of their daily life. He appealed to youth to shun drugs and adopt games and sports for all-round development of their personality.
Others present during the match were DN Abrol, Parshotam Pawar, Anoop Langer, Kuljeet Singh, Ajay Gupta, Jimmy mani, Krishan Sharma, Vijayanand, Rajinder Sharma, Parveen Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Sanjay Thakur etc.
